Two people were seriously hurt in a head-on collision early Saturday morning.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says Shannon Boffman, 37, of Atchison, Kansas, was traveling eastbound on US-59 about two miles east of Winthrop at 12:40am Saturday.
According to a crash report, Boffman passed another vehicle on the shoulder of the highway, and then crossed the center line into oncoming traffic. Boffman’s truck careened into a Kia station wagon and then left the highway. It overturned several times, ejecting Boffman.
Boffman was flown to Heartland Regional Medical Center by helicopter ambulance for treatment of serious injuries.
The other motorist, 60-year-old Max Berry, also of Atchison, was transported to Heartland with serious injuries.
