There was an upside to the severe thunderstorm that lashed Saint Joseph this morning. The fast-moving storm brought much-needed rain, almost a full inch. The official measurement at Rosecrans Memorial Airport was .95 of an inch.
It all fell in a three-hour period beginning at 6 am. Most of the rain, .81, came in the first hour. Another .11 came the second hour, and a final .03 sprinkled down in the final hour, between 8 and 9.
