city of st joseph seal logoThe City of St Joseph announced it would implement Phase II of the Emergency Snow Ordinance at 10pm Monday. All vehicles must be removed from emergency snow routes by midnight, and remain so until those routes have been released.

City street crews will be conducting snow operations in continuous 12-hour shifts, and will be called in at midnight tonight. Plowing will begin with emergency snow routes first, followed by secondary routes, and then district routes. By the time crews have finished with emergency and secondary routes, all residences will be within 2-3 blocks of a plowed street.

This particular storm is calling for a relatively dry snow, and coupled with strong winds, will create drifting conditions resulting in the possibility of crews plowing streets multiple times.

With the forecast of 7-10 inches of snow, strong winds with gusts up to 30mph, frigid temperatures with dangerous wind chills, and blowing snow, residents in Northwest Missouri are encouraged to take precautions to protect their families over the next several days.
