Drivers are being warned that some state routes are expected to close in the next few days as heavy rains move into the area.
The Missouri Department of Transportation said recent heavy rains have already washed out culverts over small streams causing road closures in some areas. It said the already saturated creeks and streams are expected to rise with flash flooding conditions across the state over the next few days.
More than 30 roads are closed across the state including several in Buchanan County. MoDOT said it expects the number of road closures to increase.
Current road closures are posted on the MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map, located at http://www.modot.org/.
