National Weather Service climate data shows St. Joseph is more than 5-inches above average for precipitation this year.
Since January 1, 2015 data collected at Rosecrans Memorial Airport reports St. Joseph has seen 20.56″ of precipitation. The average is 15.21″ by this point in time.
For the month of June as of 1:32 a.m. Monday we’ve already seen 4.87″ of rainfall. The average is only 2.26″.
Last year at this point in time NWS reports we had 5.28″ in June. However, year-to-date at this point in time was lower in 2014 at 13.05″.
Even with above average totals the area continues to see a chance for rain in the forecast. Remnants of tropical system could be heading our way out of the Gulf of Mexico later this weekend bringing even more rain chances.
