The St. Joseph Police Department said it will not be pressing charges after a man shoots himself in the leg over the weekend.
Police and emergency personnel responded to the 2600 block of Faraon St. Saturday around 3 p.m.
Capt. Jeff Wilson said officers found a man had shot himself in the leg.
“He was cleaning his gun and didn’t pay any attention to whether it was loaded or not,” Wilson said. “In a case like this…clearly there was no foul play involved.”
The man was taken to Mosaic Life Care with non-life threatening injuries.
Wilson said the case has been ruled accidental and that no charges will be filed.
