The investigation that earned the Saint Joseph School District the State Auditor’s lowest rating ever will be the focus of a followup meeting later this month. The audit team will look at how the district is implementing its recommendations.
School board member Lori Prussman says this has been a difficult time for the district, but she’s optimistic. “I am so hopeful for the future, that in a couple of years we’re going to be thankful that this happened, so that we could look back and say, this needed to happen for us to grow and become a better, stronger district.”
The audit team will spend three days in Saint Joseph, beginning with a public meeting May 26 at one pm. The location for that meeting has not been determined yet. The district will stream that meeting live and also broadcast it on its YouTube channel. Auditors will also hold worksessions with the school board and district staff May 27 and 28.
