The St. Joseph Police Department has little to report in the death of two individuals found in a St. Joseph home Monday.
Authorities initially began investigating the death of two individuals believed to be elderly found in a home at 1702 S. 22nd St. Monday around 3:45 p.m.
Special suits had to be worn by investigators to enter the residence due to the poor conditions inside.
Capt. Jeff Wilson said Thursday that names and genders of the individuals are still not being released.
“There is a lot of work being done to establish confirmation,” Wilson said. “I anticipate that we should have somewhat conclusive answers by Monday.”
He said it’s a matter of ensuring identification of who the individuals were.
Authorities had previously reported that it looked like a period of time had occurred since the deaths had taken place.
Investigators cleared the scene Tuesday shortly after 2 p.m.
