HAMILTON – A semi driver died in an accident just after 5 p.m. on Monday in Caldwell County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Volvo semi driven by Sandra M. Kelly, 52, Hayworth, IL., was eastbound on U.S. 36 five miles east of Hamilton.
The truck traveled into the median and onto westbound lanes of traffic.
It struck the left rear of a 2002 Ford Windstar. The truck traveled off the north side of U.S. 36, overturned and blocked the driving lane and part of the passing lane.
Kelly was ejected through the passenger side window and pronounced dead at the scene. She was transported to Brown Funeral Home in Cameron.
The driver of the Ford Ruth M. Bowerman, 21, Linneus, was not injured.
The MSHP reported Kelly was not wearing a seat belt.
