Northwest Missouri State University evacuated a building on campus Wednesday morning after detecting a possible gas leak.
Northwest Media Relations Specialist Mark Hornickel said the Station, a conference center and dining facility were evacuated as a precaution around 9 a.m. this morning after faculty and staff who were doing preventative maintenance detected a possible gas leak.
Gas lines to two residence halls, Phillips and Millikan were shut off while leak is investigated.
The residence halls were not evacuated.
Hornickel said students in the residence halls should not see much of an impact with the gas lines shut off.
The Station reopened around 10:30 a.m. for students use. Hornickel said the P.O.D. Market will open during its regular business hours, beginning at 4 p.m., but Papa John’s will remain closed until further notice.
