SAVANNAH- A bicycle rider was injured in an accident just before 7 p.m. on Tuesday in Andrew County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Dodge Neon driven by Kaitlyn N. Sumner, 18, St. Joseph was traveling westbound on Route E one mile east of Savannah.
The vehicle began to skid to the left to avoid striking a bicycle driven by Kimberly K. Kennedy, 42, Savannah.
The car hit the bike in the center of the road. The car continued across the eastbound lanes. Kennedy was ejected from the bike. She was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center and has improved to good condition.
