Northwest Missouri State University’s Blue Key and Cardinal Key honor societies on Friday, April 11, crowned Jacob Trentman as this year’s Tower King and Molly Franklin as the Tower Queen.
The Tower King and Queen is organized annually by Blue Key and Cardinal Key and selected from a group of Northwest students who excel academically and exhibit high involvement at Northwest and in the Maryville community. Campus organizations nominate one king and one queen, who then participate in an application and interview process resulting in the selection of five king candidates and five queen candidates to fill the Tower court. The king and queen are selected by the student body.
“They are well-rounded individuals who have achieved academic success and work hard outside the classroom to better the community here at Northwest Missouri State University,” Cody Uhing, the chair of the Tower King and Queen program this year, said during the ceremony. “It is such an honor to be a nominee for this prestigious award, and I want to encourage all of you to keep striving for success academically and within the community.”
Trentman is a senior business management and marketing major from Kansas City. He is a member of Delta Sigma Phi and was sponsored by Phi Mu. Franklin is a senior corporate recreation and wellness major from St. Joseph. She was sponsored by Phi Mu, of which she is also a member.
