Pianist Maya Tuylieva will perform at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 10 in the Kemper Recital Hall inside Spratt Hall on the campus of Missouri Western State University. The recital is free and open to the public.
Dr. Tuylieva has been described as “a profound artist, capable of commanding the attention of the audience with her inimitable sincerity and conviction.” A native of Turkmenistan, Dr. Tuylieva’s program will feature music composed by fellow native, Nury Hallmammedov. The “Ballada” and “Sounds of Dutar” masterfully combine elements of Western music with the colors and harmonies of Turkmenistan. Schumann’s “Kreisleriana” and Sonatas by Haydn and Scarlatti round out the program.
