Ten injured in Friday crash with Semi-truck

Missouri Highway Patrol  MHPJAMESPORT, Mo—An investigation continues into a Friday crash in Daviess County that sent 10 people to the hospital, three of them with serious injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports a 2003 Chevy Van driven by Wanda B. Harris, 41, Casstown, OH, was westbound on M-6 just west of Jamesport.  The van failed to stop at a stop sign, went into the intersection and hit the passenger side of a 2014 Freightliner semi-truck.

The van rotated clockwise following impact and struck the trailer of the truck.

The van went off the north side of M-6 and partly blocked the westbound turn lanes onto Highway F.

Two occupants of the van Rochelle Hertzler, 25 Gallatin, Mo., and an infant Rafael Harris, Casstown, OH, were ejected from the van.

Hertzler was transported by helicopter to Truman Medical Center. Harris was flown to Children’s Mercy. They were not wearing seat belts. Pamela L. Stahl, 23, Gallatin, Mo. was flown to KU Medical Center.

The truck driver, Juan G. Garia-Castro, 45, Kansas City was transported to Cameron Regional Medical Center.

Six others in the van with minor injuries were transported to various hospitals in the area.
