Second Harvest Community Food Bank will be presenting a Walk-A-Thon for their program, Backpack Buddies. The annual event will be held Saturday, April 5, 2014, at Missouri Western State University, in the Griffon Indoor Sports Complex.
The Walk-A-Thon raises money for children who get a healthy breakfast, a healthy lunch and a healthy snack each weekend during the school year through Backpack Buddies.
This year’s Walk-A-Thon will be from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Registration will begin at 9:30 a.m.
We are asking for a generous donation of $5 (or more if you so desire.) After the walk there will be refreshments provided.
Over 3,200 children in 18 counties in over 50 schools, Head Start or after-school programs are signed up for the program for the 2013-2014 school year.
